Jenny Delfin, MD
Dr. Delfin is a board-certified cardiologist. She graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training at SUNY at Stony Brook. Her medical interests include cardiovascular disease in women, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease and coronary artery disease.

Ira Schulman, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Schulman is a board-certified cardiologist with over 30 years experience in the field. His specialties include acute myocardial infarction, prevention of arteriosclerosis, valvular disease, echocardiography and general cardiology. After graduating from NYU School of Medicine, he performed both his internship and residency training at NYU Medical Center and then completed a three-year fellowship in Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center. For 26 years, Dr. Schulman served as the Director of Cardiology at NYU Downtown Hospital. For relaxation, he is an avid helicopter pilot.
Dermatologists
Susan E Katz, MD
Dr. Katz is board-certified dermatologist who joins Trinity after many years practicing and teaching within the Einstein/Montefiore academic medical community. A native New Yorker (and Hunter College High School grad), she received her MD from the NYU School School of Medicine and pursued residencies in first Internal Medicine at Roosevelt/Columbia, then Dermatology at Einstein/Montefiore. Dr. Katz practices both general and cosmetic dermatology, with a particular emphasis upon psoriasis and skin cancer detection and treatment,with regard to the former, and the use of fillers, botulinum products, and other minimally invasive restorative procedures as regards the latter. She is interested in complete skin health and antiaging regimens as a whole. Dr. Katz maintains a strong interest in the visual arts in her off-hours.
Gastroenterologists

Bart Kummer, MD
Dr. Kummer is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at St. Luke's Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Kummer has been in practice, as well as instructing medical students and residents, since 1982. In recognition of his contributions to teaching and academic medicine, he has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and one of the first to be named an American Gastroenterolgical Association Fellow. Dr. Kummer has been the Chief of Endoscopy at a Manhattan teaching hospital for more than 20 years, and a member of the NYU School of Medicine faculty since 1999. His medical interests include screening for gastrointestinal malignancies, especially colon and esophageal cancer, unusual abdominal pain syndromes, chronic diarrheal illnesses, as well as travel medicine. Dr. Kummer speaks fluent French as well as medical Spanish, and is interested in music and travel.

Marcel Laufer, MD
Dr. Laufer is a board certified gastroenterologist with decades of experience with endoscopy and colonoscopy in academic settings. Currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University, Dr. Laufer received both his B.A and M.D. degrees from NYU. He completed his medical residency and training in gastroenterology at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Laufer's clinical interests include comprehensive clinical evaluation for abdominal symptoms as well as colon cancer screening. Dr. Laufer speaks fluent Italian and Hebrew and medical Spanish.

Roshini Rajapaksa, MD
Dr. Rajapaksa is a board-certified gastroenterologist with degrees from New York University School of Medicine and Harvard College. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine and she has a special interest in women's health and cancer screening. She has published several research articles on colon cancer screening and is a frequent medical contributor to the Today Show, Fox News, CNN, and ABC News.

Cathy Carron, MD
Dr. Carron is a board-certified internist with over 15 years experience in the Wall Street area. Well known and respected by the Wall Street community, Dr. Carron understands the unique stresses and strains of the Wall Street life, and serves as both a consultant and "Team Physician" to many Wall Street Corporations.

Satish Dhalla, MD, FACP
Dr. Dhalla graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Downtown Hospital. At Downtown Hospital, he served as the Director of Medical Education and currently holds the position of Director of General Internal Medicine. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine. He was the recipient of the "Physical Diagnosis Teacher of the Year Award" at NYU School of Medicine, and both the "Teacher of the Year Award" and the "Alumnus of the Year Award" at New York Downtown Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Dhalla's medical interests include preventive healthcare and travel medicine.

Peter Lotfi, MD
Dr. Lotfi was born in Lebanon. He attended the American University of Beirut in 1972 then transferred to the National University of Iran in 1974 where he received his M.D. diploma with Honors and Distinction in 1982. Dr. Lotfi joined the residency program in internal medicine at the NYU Downtown Hospital from 1984 to 1987. Then he worked as an attending physician in the emergency department from 1987 to 1991 at NYU Downtown Hospital, at the same time devoting his time to his private practice as an internist serving lower Manhattan and Wall Street area from 1988 to present. Dr. Lotfi was involved in helping the victims of the two unfortunate terrorist attacks of the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001, having the experience in emergency medicine.
Dr. Peter Lotfi is board certified in Internal Medicine. He has been an attending physician at the NY Downtown Hospital in lower Manhattan since 1987. His medical interest is in Preventive Medicine in addition to Cardiovascular Diseases, Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia and Immunization. He is a fellow of the American College of physicians and a member of the American Heart Association. Dr. Lotfi is fluent in Arabic and Persian.

Elisa Rose, MD
Dr. Rose is a board-certified internist. She received her medical degree from New York University Medical School and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. A native New Yorker, Dr. Rose has spent the past four years caring for patients in the downtown community as an attending physician at New York Downtown Hospital and in practice at New York Downtown Medical Associates. In addition to caring for her patients, Dr. Rose is a Clinical Instructor at NYU Medical School, teaching physical diagnosis. She has a special interest in Preventive Medicine and physician-patient communication.

Emily O. Taylor, MD
Dr. Taylor was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a graduate of Brown University, where she received a degree in Biology, and attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. Her special interests include Preventive Medicine, Women’s Health, and Infectious Diseases. Before settling into her career in medicine, she attended the Juilliard School and worked as a Stage Manager on Broadway, and continues to have an active interest in theatre.

Dennis A. Cardone, DO
Dr. Dennis A. Cardone is a fellowship-trained and board-certified specialist in pediatric and adult sports medicine and a Clinical Associate Professor in the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He received his medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). At UMDNJ-RWJMS, Dr. Cardone went on to serve as both Director of Sports Medicine and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
In addition to lecturing nationally on sports medicine topics, Dr. Cardone has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He has been a team physician for Princeton University, Rutgers University, numerous high schools, and the Paralympics. Dr. Cardone was selected to serve on the Medical Advisory Board for the Florida High School Athletic Association, as well as numerous sports medicine advisory panels. He has a special interest in treating young athletes and athletes with special needs and his practice is open to patients of all ages.

Mehul R. Shah, MD
Dr. Mehul Shah is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is a board-certified, orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine. Dr. Shah specializes in the orthopaedic care of sports-related related injuries as well as arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle, and elbow.
Dr. Shah received his undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Subsequently, he received his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. After medical school, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases. He then received further training in advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery at the renowned Lenox Hill Hospital Sports Medicine fellowship. During his fellowship training, Dr. Shah participated in the orthopaedic care of the New York Jets, New York Islanders, Hofstra University, and Hunter College.
His clinical interests include rotator cuff tears, articular cartilage disorders, meniscal tears, and ligamentous injuries of the knee.
Podiatrists

Nabil M. Fahim, DPM
Dr. Fahim is a board-certified podiatrist. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a podiatric surgical residency. For the past three years, he has been on staff at the Diabetes Foot and Ankle Center at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases treating the foot complications of diabetes. Prior to this he was in private practice in Queens. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and was past Director of the Diabetes Foot Clinic at its clinical division. He is currently on staff at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases at the Diabetes Foot and Ankle Center as well as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedics. He has an interest in the biomechanical, non-surgical treatment of the foot.
Pulmonologists

Muthiah Sukumaran, MD
Dr. Sukumaran was born in India. He attended the University of Madras-India followed by Madras Medical College where he received his MD diploma in 1972. Dr. Sukumaran was trained in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases at City Hospital Center – Mount Sinai Hospital Services (1973-1978) and received his NYS Medical License in 1977. His medical interests include bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung cancer. Since 1979, Dr. Sukumaran has worked at NYU Downtown Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital where he has taught students, residents, and fellows for 30 years. He served as Director of Pulmonary Disease from 1979-1982 and was appointed Director of Medical ICU in 1991. He served in that capacity until recently. Dr. Sukumaran is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, Fellow of American College of Physicians, and Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and has served on the editorial board of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is an author of numerous articles and the recipient of many awards and recognitions including the Castle Connolly's "Best Doctors in New York" award and New York Magazine's "Best Doctors List." Outside his medical profession, Dr. Sukumaran is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.
Dmitriy Yadgarov, MD
After graduating Andijan State Medical School in Uzbekistan, Dr. Dmitriy Yadgarov completed a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. Dr. Yadgarov was trained in pulmonary and critical medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Subsequently he pursued training in sleep medicine at New York Medical College, Sleep Disorders Institute in New York, NY, one of the largest and the oldest such fellowship in the country.
Dr. Yadgarov is a member of The American College of Chest Physicians, The American Thoracic Society, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Yadgarov has conducted research projects and published in the field of sleep and pulmonary medicine. He has admitting privileges in NYU Langone Medical Center, New York Hospital Queens, and North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital.
Dr. Yadgarov is an expert in treating different sleep disorders including Sleep apnea, Insomnia, Restless Leg Syndrome, Narcolepsy, and other sleep related conditions. Dr. Yadgarov specializes in treatment of Bronchial Asthma, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Chronic Cough, Seasonal Allergies, Smoking Cessation, early detection of Lung Cancer and other diseases of the lung. He skillfully performs a variety of non-invasive and invasive procedures such as Bronchoscopy and related biopsies, Laryngoscopy, Thoracentisis, Pleurodesis, Endotracheal Intubation, Ventilator Management, and other related procedures.
Otolaryngologists
Maria V Suurna, MD
Dr. Suurna is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology; the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery; the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society; and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Suurna is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Otolaryngology at NYU Langone Medical Center and performs surgeries at Tisch Hospital.
She specializes in various head and neck disorders including diseases of the ear and hearing loss, nasal and sinus disorders, parathyroid and thyroid diseases, sleep disorders, voice and swallowing disorders.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Suurna is actively involved in teaching Otolaryngology residents and medical students at NYU Langone Medical Center, and has been published in several medical journals and books.
